Hanging of the Green & Lighting of the Way

To kick-off the Christmas season, Samford University will host its annual Hanging of the Green event. Attendees can look forward to a candlelit walk across campus, a worship service celebrating the birth of Jesus and beautiful seasonal décor. The Samford University Legacy League’s 2024 Christmas Home Tour will feature five uniquely beautiful homes in Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills and Homewood with holiday treats and pop-up shoppes at Samford University President Beck Taylor’s home. The Legacy League is a philanthropic organization that provides life-changing scholarships for students with significant financial need and challenging circumstances. Advance tickets are required. The 2024 Lighting of the Star and Homewood Christmas Parade

Join the Homewood Chamber of Commerce as they light the historic Homewood Star at the top of 18th Street as the official beginning of the Homewood Christmas Parade! The Curve in Homewood (Outside Trak Shak on 18th Street)
The city of Homewood along with Chabad of Alabama will host its annual celebration of Chanukah (Hanukkah) and menorah-lighting event. With music, food, dancing, family-friendly games and activities, there will be something for everyone to enjoy at this event.
