HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
Andrew and I have known each other basically our whole lives. Our dads have been business partners and best friends since before we were born. Every summer, we would take a lake trip with both of our families. Andrew and I always got along so well and became really good friends. It wasn’t until the summer after I graduated from college that things changed. After the lake trip, we stayed in touch more than we ever had in the past. Andrew went from my friend to my best friend, and then became the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
THE PROPOSAL
Andrew proposed at the church he grew up in, Trinity United Methodist Church. Andrew’s mom works at Trinity, so when he said that we needed to go grab something she had left there on our way to dinner one night, I didn’t think anything of it. Trinity has a beautiful prayer garden that I had never been in before, so I was excited to see it when Andrew said that was where his mom’s AirPods were. I was looking around, taking in the view. When I turned towards Andrew, I saw that he was down on one knee. I was so shocked!
WEDDING DRESS DETAILS
My wedding dress was actually the first dress I tried on! I immediately fell in love with it and knew that it was probably going to be the one. As I tried on more dresses, it just confirmed that the first dress was the dress!
WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE
My biggest advice is to remember the reason for the season. The wedding planning process is so fun, but it can be overwhelming at times. If I ever felt like I was starting to stress, I would think about Andrew and the fact that what really matters is our marriage and starting our life together.
