The Dress
My (Courtney’s) exact dress was one of the first wedding dress pictures I had ever saved. I tried on a few others first, and then tried on that one. I stood in front of Heidi Elnora’s big, beautiful mirror, and closed my eyes while they put on my veil and of course cried when I opened my eyes. Fast forward a few months, and I had been searching for my rehearsal dress and just could not find it. I went to Heidi, we brainstormed and she created the perfect outfit for me. She decided to add it to her collection and named it after me. What an honor!
Favorite Details
My bouquet was possibly the most epic bouquet ever thanks to Wild Things in Homewood. Josh actually works next door to Wild Things at his family business, Mantooth Interiors, and I was always obsessed with her designs. Another big favorite was “THE MANTOOTHS” marquee letters on the dance floor at the reception. The groom’s cake was also in the shape of the green and yellow Masters logo because Josh’s favorite thing in the entire world is golf. Our wedding colors ended up being emerald green and gold too. To top it off, after all of that was planned, The Masters was actually moved from its normal April date to the day of our wedding due to COVID!
Since LSU/Alabama game was rescheduled for our wedding night, I ordered Galettes-inspired cups with yellow hammer drinks and designed some game-day stickers that said “The Mantooths love the Tide.” It turns out the game ended up getting rescheduled yet again, but the Bama details were still so fun. One last little fun fact also stemming from college days was about our band, Soul Tide. They are based in Tuscaloosa, and my friends and I always loved going to watch them play.
