How We Met: We met in 2003 at First Commercial Bank. I (Jess) was working there at the time, and Bo had a summer internship at the bank. The day his internship ended, he asked me out, which was funny to me because I had no idea he was interested in me. We dated during the fall of 2003 and then parted ways since he was in school at Auburn. Fast forward 10 years, and we reconnected in Birmingham and started dating in the fall of 2013. The rest is history.
The Proposal: Bo surprised me with a weekend getaway to one of our favorite cities, Savannah. I had no idea where we were going, and he had packed all my bags– the makeup, clothes, dresses, shoes, everything! On Sunday afternoon I let my suspicions die down as I thought we were heading to go home, but Bo wanted to stop by a beautiful riverfront condo we had stayed at in previous trips before going to the airport. He proposed and we stayed there for one more night and had a special dinner at the Pink House.
The Dress: Honestly worrying about the dress was a big stressor until I found Bustle. I found “the dress” there and was able to walk out with it the same day. It’s so lacey, I just love it.
Favorite Moment: The ceremony—it was a gorgeous sunny warm day. We were outside in the middle of a sheep field with our friends and family witnessing the starting point of us becoming husband and wife.
