This annual 10K/5K/Fun Run will begin and end on 29th Avenue South near Dave’s Pizza. Participants in the 5K can run or walk and will be chip-timed. Those running in the 10K, however, must complete the race within 1.5 hours. This event’s proceeds benefit the Jimmie Hale Mission. Register here.
Grace House Ministries’ Pumpkin Festival

Homewood Central Park
Brought to patrons by the Grace House Junior Board, this festival raises money and awareness for Alabama girls in foster care. Children’s admission is $10 each and comes with a take-home pumpkin. They will also receive a goody bag and all-inclusive access to the many activities and events. (Adults get in free). Putt for Pitt Hopkins 2024

Highlands Golf Course
Back for the fourth year, Putt for Pitt Hopkins is an annual fundraising event in honor of Homewood resident JohnWesley Holley and Oxford resident Brody Key. Pitt-Hopkins syndrome is an extremely rare genetic disorder characterized by severe intellectual and developmental delays, epilepsy, breathing issues and more. There is not much known about the disorder, but since this event’s inception, more have come to become aware of it and have donated towards research. Megan Montgomery 5K Run/Walk

The Megan Montgomery 5K Run/Walk aims to raise awareness of and prevent domestic violence. This race’s proceeds will directly benefit the Megan Montgomery Foundation, which funds domestic violence education and prevention classes that are taught to age-appropriate crowds in local school systems, colleges and nonprofits. The Homewood Witches Ride

Brooms up, witches! Taking place after Homewood’s Fall Festival, the 12th annual Homewood Witches Ride is back this October and will feature a 2.5-mile bike ride from Homewood Central Park to Little Donkey in downtown Homewood. Riders will dress up in their Halloween best and throw candy to children lining the sidewalks as they “fly” through town. Proceeds benefit the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Homewood Chamber Golf Classic

Inverness Country Club
The Homewood Chamber’s annual Golf Classic is expected to feature 100 golfers competing this year, and participants—no matter his or her skill set—are invited to come out and play. Proceeds benefit the chamber’s economic development programs and provide scholarships for local students. Learn more and register here.
