How We Met
John and Amanda met through family and work colleagues one night at TopGolf. John was stricken by Amanda’s beautiful personality, looks and golf swing. Amanda thought John was pretty cool too and couldn’t believe he was single! The following week, they saw each other at a Dawes concert, and the rest is history.
The Proposal
John and Amanda were engaged in Seaside, Florida, on July 10, 2020. John even hired an undercover photographer to capture the beautiful moment. John was understandably nervous before asking Amanda the big question, though of course Amanda said yes! The weather and setting were perfect, in addition to a beautiful Seaside sunset.
The Wedding Dress
Carolyn and Cathy at The White Room helped Amanda pick out a beautiful and unique Amsale wedding dress.
Favorite Moment
Sitting down at the reception, eating and soaking in the beautiful moment and dancing under the lights with their family and friends. It actually rained right before and during the ceremony and lightly rained during the reception. It made it all more magical, and Ashley Stork at Magnolia Vines made sure everything turned out perfect!
Favorite Details
The wedding and reception felt like they were out of a fairy tale! It was so special to have their dog, Heidi, part of their big day with some adorable pictures too. Their first dance was to “Beyond” by Leon Bridges, which was meaningful because it was one of their favorite concerts we attended together while they were dating.
What We Are Doing Now
John and Amanda currently love living in their house in Homewood and enjoy spending time with their beloved golden retriever, Heidi. Amanda works for UAB as a rheumatologist and was also recently appointed as program director of the Rheumatology Fellowship Program at UAB. John is a financial analyst and works for PNC Bank.
