HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
We met through mutual friends in November 2021. I was about to graduate from Auburn University, when Chris came into town for the Iron Bowl. My cousin was engaged to one of Chris’ childhood friends at the time. We met and hit it off instantly and went on our first official date two weeks later.
THE PROPOSAL
What I thought was just a typical date night turned into my dream proposal, when Chris wanted to stop by Sibyl Temple in Vestavia Hills to “look at the Christmas tree” on our way to dinner. He proposed with some of our closest friends hiding in the bushes, capturing the moment. However, the surprises weren’t over! Chris drove me to our engagement party afterwards, where we celebrated with all of our friends and family.
PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE
We began our preparation for marriage by following the book, “The Meaning of Marriage,” by Timothy Keller. We would read a few chapters each week together and meet with our wedding officiant, Skot Montgomery, at A2 Church for counseling. It was such a special time of growing closer to each other while also growing in our relationships with God.
WEDDING MOMENTS
Getting to spend our wedding day together as husband and wife may sound cliche, but we made it a priority to spend as much time together that day as possible. It truly was the best night of our lives, and I wish we could relive it over and over.
