HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
We met randomly at a restaurant, but Will knew who I was because he played football at Samford University with my big brother, Jake.
THE PROPOSAL
Will was working for one of my best friend’s grandmother, Juju, at King Cotton Fabrics during the summer to save up enough money for a ring. He and I were on the way to take pictures for our podcast (or so I thought), and he said he needed to stop on the way to “pick up a check from Juju’s house.” I heard about how beautiful her backyard was, so I asked if I could run back there to see it while he grabbed the check. There was a pile of rose petals and a photographer and that’s where it happened–I was so oblivious that I saw the rose petals and said, “Look, Will! Someone must have just gotten engaged!”
PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE
We did premarital counseling with Steve Blair at Church of the Highlands, which was incredible. We had a quick engagement, so we spent a lot of time praying for each other, spending time with couples we look up to and asking God how He wanted to use our wedding and marriage for His glory.
WEDDING MOMENTS
The moment I walked down the aisle was beyond special. I have never been so overwhelmed by the love of God and the look on Will’s face. It was unlike anything I have ever experienced! It felt like Will, the Lord and I were the only people in the room, and I still get full body chills thinking about it.
