HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
We met on a dating app. After talking on the phone, our first date was at Gianmarco’s, and we finished the evening at the Crest Road overlook, laughing and talking. We both knew from the first date that what we were starting was going to be something special.
THE PROPOSAL
Ty’s plans for the proposal changed after the ring was delayed. He got a call from Diamond’s Direct that he could pick it up the day before Thanksgiving. From there, he changed his plan and proposed at my family’s home in Decatur, Alabama, after Thanksgiving dinner with my family. He took me out to the fire pit, and fireworks began going off. He then shakily told me he loved me and asked me to marry him.
PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE
We decided on a shorter engagement, and my childhood pastor guided us through premarital counseling.
WEDDING MOMENTS
Our favorite moments of the day were when we said a prayer together before the ceremony without seeing each other and saying our vows together. We also loved the details of pictures from our families’ weddings. The Dress Doctor took my grandmother’s dress and created a table runner out of the lace to use at our wedding.
