How We Met: Jonathan and I (Lyndsey) met in 2011 when I started as a hostess at Highlands Bar & Grill. He had bartended there for years, and I quickly noticed how warm and friendly he was. One night he handed me a folded cocktail napkin as I walked through the bar. It was a game of hangman with ten spaces, and I filled in a guess and dropped it off every time I seated another table. It took me an embarrassingly long time to understand that he was asking for my phone number. I was there for only a few months, and I think that job was God’s way to bring us together.

The Proposal: Six years later, Jonathan took me to the site of our first kiss in Five Points and got down on one knee. We had picked out a beautiful vintage ring almost a year earlier at Levy’s that I was wondering if I’d ever see again.

Favorite Moments: Our 13-year old (step)son Pierce’s face during the ceremony, getting ready at our photographer Hillary’s studio with my mom and girlfriends, my Granny seated in her special chair, and seeing all of Jonathan’s friends and regulars in the crowd. Also I loved that my favorite teacher from Homewood High School, Melissa Dameron-Vines, agreed to do a reading during the ceremony.

Favorite Details: Eucalyptus everywhere and walking down the aisle to Chuck King’s trumpet solo of “It Had to Be You.” Also I loved the tossed lavender as we left the reception.
