How did you two meet?
Growing up, Nat was good friends with my cousin, so we always knew of each other. But, we don’t remember exactly when we met. Fast forward to college, we both attended the University of Alabama. We would always say hello in passing, but we didn’t run into each other often. Once we got to our senior year, we started running into each other every time we went out. We’d have longer and longer conversations each time until finally we went to a date party together. We’ve been together ever since!
The Proposal
My family made plans to take a weekend trip to our mountain house in Highlands, North Carolina, the first weekend in June 2021. While there, Nat suggested we go on a hike around sunset. He was walking briskly up the trail, leaving me in the dust. When we finally reached the lookout, I was enjoying the view and catching my breath when Nat tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around, and he was down on one knee with a ring! We practically skipped down the mountain in excitement. We went back to our house where his family was waiting with mine as a surprise. It was the most perfect and unforgettable day.
Favorite Wedding Moment
I have two favorite moments from our wedding day. The first was when the doors opened to the church for me to walk down the aisle with my dad. My dad is one of my favorite people on Earth, and I was so thankful to have him next to me during this moment. My second favorite was our first dance to Otis Redding’s song, “That’s How Strong My Love Is.” It still gives me chills every time I listen to it.
Favorite Wedding Detail
I was lucky enough to have the best wedding planner in the business, my sister, Anna Wynn. She knew that what I cared most about was my color scheme. Since our wedding was in May, I wanted to take advantage of the bright and colorful flowers that would be in season. Our florist made all my dreams come true with the most beautiful arrangements and bouquets.
