Children in kindergarten-fifth grade are invited to hangout with some cute, furry friends from the Birmingham Humane Society while picking out a good read! This event takes place in the round auditorium each week through March 22.

3. The Exceptional Foundation’s Chili Cook-Off

Saturday, March 4 | 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Brookwood Village

Mark your calendars for the 19th annual chili cook-off! This family-friendly event boasts all the chili one can eat, live music and a kids’ zone, too! All proceeds benefit the Exceptional Foundation. Last year, the 2022 chili cook-off had 146 teams competing for the gold with more than 8,500 people in attendance. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased here

4. Taste of Homewood

Thursday, March 16 | 5:30-8 p.m.
Homewood City Hall Plaza

Bring the family out for the 20th annual Taste of Homewood premier, which will feature food from 25 local restaurants! Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 the day of. Price of admission includes unlimited samples of food and beverages, live music and more. All tickets purchased online will be available at will call. 5. Homewood Chamber of Commerce’s March Luncheon

Tuesday, March 21 | 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
The Club

Join the Homewood Chamber of Commerce for its monthly luncheon, which is a great way to network with professionals in the community. This month’s luncheon will feature Carlos Aleman of HICA. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m., and lunch and the program will begin at noon. Admission is $25 for members or $35 for non-members. For more information or to register, visit here.
