1. Inspecting Carol

Bring the family for this classic Stephen Sondheim musical! It’s a different turn on traditional fairy tales set to a wonderful musical score. All performances will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday afternoon matinee at 2:30 p.m. in Brookwood Village mall top-level near the food court. 3. Samford School of the Arts Presents: A Christmas Carol

Come out to see this classic holiday story performed by close to 50 Samford students plus an equal number working behind the scenes and accompaniment by the Samford Orchestra. Get your tickets here.

4. Downtown Homewood Christmas Parade + Star Lighting

Tuesday, Dec. 7 | 6:30 p.m.
Downtown Homewood

You can’t get much more Homewood than the lighting of the 18th Street star, and the annual parade is the same night to boot. After the parade ends at City Hall Plaza, a special visitor in a big red suit will arrive, the Homewood High School Band will play and the Christmas tree will be lit.

5. Christmas Home Tour

Tour homes in all their festive glory at this annual event to benefit the Samford Legacy League’s scholarships to Samford University for students with significant financial need and challenging circumstances. tickets visit samford.edu/legacyleague/.

6. Walk for a Claus

Sunday, Dec. 12 | 2-8 p.m.
Grocery BrewPub

The Homewood Santa Claus Society is back at it again! Participating “Santas” will enjoy Christmas cheer at the Grocery Brewpub, take a 1.5-mile Santa walk” through Homewood, and conclude with resting back at the Grocery Brewpub after delivering their gifts. Participation is for men ages 21+ and requires the walkers to don a Santa Claus suit. Each admission ticket includes food, beverage and hat, and a portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to The Mike Slive Foundation to raise awareness of prostate cancer. 7. Birmingham Boys Choir Christmas Concert

Tuesday, Dec. 14 | 7 p.m.
Samford University Wright Center.

Celebrate the sounds of the season as 150 voices join in singing  beloved carols as well as Christmas anthems.
