HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
My best friend’s husband, Scott, works with Cory. Scott and Meredith had Cory over for dinner one night, and halfway through the dinner, she was texting me, saying I just had to meet Cory. A few weeks later, we all went on a double date.
THE PROPOSAL
When our church service was over, my parents jumped up and said, “See you at the house!” They ran out the door. That was a little odd. I didn’t think too much of it. We were then stopped by our preacher as we were walking towards the door, and he started asking us all kinds of questions to stall us for a few minutes. We finally made our way to the car and to my parent’s house. I jumped out of the car, grabbed my change of clothes and headed towards the back door of the house. All of a sudden, Cory stopped me and grabbed my hand. He led me out to the back yard, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was totally surprised! After he put the ring on my finger, he told me my cousin, who was hiding behind us taking pictures, and our families were inside the house, watching this happen. We walked up to the back porch and celebrated with all of them.
WEDDING DRESS DETAILS
The bow on the back was my favorite part! I loved that I could remove it for a different look at the reception. The neckline and bodice of the dress made me feel so elegant, and I was so comfortable all day.
WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE
Turn to your family, friends or planner when you’re feeling overwhelmed and ask for help. At the end of the planning, you get to marry your best friend and start your life together as one, and that is what really matters.
