How We Met
Joe and I met through working at a singing and dancing camp called Summer Show Offs when we were in high school. We love all things music and dance, so we instantly clicked. We have been dating ever since!
The Proposal
Funny enough, I got sick the week he was planning to propose, but Joe decided to go through with it because he decided that it would throw me off even more. He got all of my friends to act like they were putting a “garden party” together so that I would be dressed up. He told me that before I went to the party he would love to take me out for brunch. He picked me up that morning and took me to an overlook over Birmingham and proposed. It was so thoughtful and special! He then surprised me with an engagement party with all our friends and family waiting at my house afterwards.
Favorite Moment
All of it, but if I had to pick, it would be the reception! All my favorite people were in one place, eating our favorite foods and dancing to a very FUN band. What could be more fun? We even sang on stage with the band.
Favorite Detail
I really wanted to highlight Chinoiserie pottery throughout my wedding. My mom always had it around the house when I was growing up, so I knew I wanted to incorporate it, not only in the vases but also in the invitations and other details. The chinoiserie along with the bright, fun flowers made the day so beautiful, unique and fun!
What We Are Doing Now
I am a fourth-grade teacher at Briarwood, and Joe is an IT Specialist at MJ Harris. On the side, we love to help choreograph for different schools’ musicals and plays around the Birmingham area.
