The Proposal: Cliff set his soon-to-be fiancé on a scavenger hunt across Birmingham. Megan was given handwritten notes from Cliff at various important places during their relationship around the city. At each stop a close friend of Megan’s delivered the next note “clue.” Then in downtown Homewood, Megan’s close friend and future matron of honor flew from Houston to deliver her last note and take Megan to Cliff. Cliff had decorated Megan’s back deck, and there in private he proposed. Afterward, a huge party was held at Megan’s parents’ house with the couple’s family and friends.
The Dress: Megan had a piece of her mother’s veil monogrammed in blue with her initials and wedding date and sewed it into her dress. Her mother had saved her baby blanket she never parted with as a child, and this was wrapped around her bridal bouquet. Megan also carried a handkerchief that was carried by her maternal great-great grandmother, great grandmother, grandmother and mother on their wedding days.
Favorite Moment: While waiting for family members to finish pictures, Cliff and Megan were able to have some alone time in the sanctuary before the ceremony. They still talk about how thankful they were for just a few minutes of sweet time together.
Favorite Detail: To play off of their new last name, different “bells” sent them off at the end of the night. Guests could choose either a silver butlers bell for the groom or a Mississippi State cowbell for the bride since she is an alum.
