There might be no Fourth of July Festival in downtown Homewood this year, but other festivities can still go on with social distance or virtually.

2. West Homewood Farmer’s Market
Tuesdays 5-8 p.m.

You can still spend warm summer evening supporting local businesses and farmers at this weekly market with special safety measures in place due to COVID-19. The number of vendors has been reduced by 50 percent, booths are spaced 10 feet apart, hand sanitizing stations are setup, and visitors are asked to wear masks as they walk around. Vendors will be required to wear masks and gloves, and no kids activities will be held this year and pets ill not be allowed either. The market runs the through the first week of August. 4. Sidewalk Sale
Downtown Homewood
Saturday, July 25 | All Day
It’s well worth venturing into late July heat to catch discounts up to 75 percent off at your favorite shops on 18th Street and its neighbors. Shop inside and out on the sidewalks, and come early for the best selection.
5. Virtual Storytime
Any Time, Any Place
We sure do miss story times and more at Homewood Public Library, but at least we can see our favorite librarians tell stories any time we like on the library’s YouTube page. Click in to hear from Ms. Laura, Ms. Cristina, Ms. Aaliyah and more.
Are there any local events we should add to this list? Do you have an event scheduled for a future month you are looking to spread the word about? Email them to our editor at mm@homewoodlife.com.
