HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?

We both grew up in Tuscaloosa but never really knew each other until my senior year at Samford. We kept running into each other everywhere, so Jackson cold called me during the summer of 2020 and asked me on a date. The rest is history!

THE PROPOSAL

Jackson wanted to keep the proposal a surprise so badly that he only told our immediate families the day before. I was convinced it was never going to happen, and on the day we got engaged, I wore no makeup and didn’t even wash my hair. We went on a walk in the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, which is one of our favorite things to do, and Jackson proposed! That night we celebrated over an intimate dinner. We had a party with family and friends the following evening.

WEDDING DRESS DETAILS

I went into Lady in Lace fully intending to buy a different dress, but when I tried this one on, I just fell in love. I loved the cathedral length, buttons down the back and off-the-shoulder draping.

WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE

Use planning as an opportunity to grow closer with your fiancé. It’s such a sweet time to learn more about each other and lean into planning your lives together after the wedding. Keeping your eyes on what your planning for–a future together–makes the more stressful moments feel worthwhile.
