The 2023 Lighting of the Star and Homewood Holiday Parade

Join the Homewood Chamber of Commerce and the City of Homewood as they light the historic Homewood Star at the top of 18th Street as the official beginning of the Downtown Homewood Holiday Parade! The lighting of the Christmas tree will immediately follow the parade, which will begin at the Homewood Public Library and make its way through downtown Homewood. Visit here for more information.

The Legacy League is a philanthropic organization that provides life-changing scholarships for students with significant financial need and challenging circumstances. Advance tickets are required. The Tree of Lights Memorial

Homewood Central Park
Community Grief Support is hosting its third annual “Tree of Lights” memorial, which honors those loved and lost with the lighting of a 12-foot Christmas tree in Homewood Central Park. The event will include holiday music, a bounce house, refreshments and visits from Santa Claus. At 5 p.m., the memorial dedication and tree lighting will commence. To sponsor a light on the “Tree of Lights,” patrons can donate the following:
$35 – Donation includes a memorial card sent to three addresses of one’s choice in honor of a lost loved one.
$40 – Donation includes the same as the $35 donation as well as a personalized memorial candle.
$75 – Donation includes the same as aforementioned donations, including a beautiful, antique-gold memorial ornament that is calligraphed with lost loved one’s name.

The Homewood Menorah Lighting

Brought to patrons by Chabad of Alabama and the City of Homewood, the third annual Homewood Menorah Lighting will take place at the “curve” in downtown Homewood. Everyone is welcome to attend this celebration of Hanukkah, and there will be food and games available for attendees, too. For more information, visit here.

The Homewood Public Library
Get festive with the Homewood Public Library this season! The library will host a gingerbread building competition for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Everyone in this age group is invited to participate, but those interested must register in advance here.
