1. First Thursday Art Stroll

Galleries and shops stay open late and set up special displays to show off their artistic wares. Stop by Alabama Goods, B. Bayer & Co., Four Seasons Gallery, Jezabells, Kellum & Company, Liz Lane Gallery and Soho Retro.

2. Varsity Patriot Football Games

Friday Nights | 7 p.m.

Bring on the Friday night lights. Don your red and blue, and we’ll see you at Waldrop Stadium.

3. Zero Prostate Cancer Run/Walk

Sept. 9 | 8 a.m.
Homewood Central Park

Support research to fight prostate cancer by joining in the 5K run/walk, 1 mile walk, Kids’ Superhero Dash for Dad or virtual Snooze for Dudes program. Afterward catch a family-friendly post-race celebration. Participants will receive tech shirts, free food, and the opportunity to connect with others who are impacted by prostate cancer. 4. Patriot Day Ceremony

Sept. 11 | 8:30 a.m.
Vestavia Hills City Hall

Remember Sept. 11, 2001 at this annual ceremony held with the cities of Mountain Brook & Vestavia Hills.

5. Lil’ Lambs Consignment Sale

Friday, Sept. 15 |  9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 16 | 9 a.m.-noon
Trinity United Methodist Gym

Stock your kids’ fall and winter wardrobe while supporting Trinity’s mission and outreach projects in the community, church and abroad. Better yet, volunteer or consign, and you get entrance to the preview party on Thursday. Many items are half-price on Saturday. Learn more here.

6. National Eating Disorders Association Awareness Walk

Sept. 16 | 8 a.m.
Homewood Central Park

Come walk to inspire others. Walk to remove stigma and send the message that eating disorders are dangerous illnesses, not lifestyle choices. Register here.

7. Homewood Chamber Membership Luncheon & Annual Legislative Update

Sept. 19 | 11:30 a.m-1 p.m.

8. Homewood High School Homecoming Parade

Sept. 21 | 4 p.m.
Downtown Homewood

Come see everyone’s favorite high school band march the streets of Homewood along with floats and special guests to get pepped up for the Patriots to take on Helena.

9. Exceptional Foundation Dinnertainment

Sept. 22

Get a glimpse of life at the Exceptional Foundation as this night of singing, dancing, poetry and crowd participation. The foundation offers social and recreational activities for individuals of all ages who are mentally challenged. Each $150 ticket includes a cocktail hour followed by a seated dinner during the show and is partially tax deductible. Find tickets here.
