How We Met: Laura heard about Sammy for months before meeting him. He was the superintendent for the construction of a co-worker’s house, a man who loved Jesus and enjoyed working out. After playing a little phone tag, Sammy and Laura connected and talked 2.5 hours, asking all the “first date” questions. A casual date was scheduled at Davenport’s Pizza. Laura walked in unsure of who she was meeting for dinner, but Sammy recognized her quickly, thinking she was more beautiful in person than in the picture he had been sent by the friend who set them up.
The Proposal: On New Year’s Eve 2017, Sammy and Laura planned to go on a casual hike in the bitter cold. When reaching an overlook, Sammy pulled out a selfie stick and propped it up in his backpack pretending to take a picture. Little did Laura know that Sammy was videoing what was about to be his proposal. After many sweet words, Sammy tearfully got down on one knee asking Laura to marry him. Laura screamed for joy and was shocked by the beautiful ring Sammy picked out by himself. Sammy and Laura celebrated with family and friends prior to ringing in 2018 together!
Favorite Moment: Sammy and Laura both agree the first look was their favorite moment from the wedding day. Sammy was very emotional and grateful to have seen his bride walk down the aisle without the production and crowd of the ceremony. Laura gave Sammy a card and couldn’t stop smiling.
