How We Met: John Crawford and I (Andrea) first met at a mutual friend’s birthday dinner at Slice back in summer of 2013. Truth be told, to this day I don’t even remember meeting him at the dinner that night! Almost, a year to the day later, we reconnected on social media, and once our friends knew there was an interest there, they set up a barbecue at their house and invited us both. We exchanged numbers and began dating, and the rest is history.
Favorite Moment: I come from a HUGE Italian/Lebanese family, and many of JC’s family and friends are still in Montgomery. To get everyone together is a true miracle of sorts! We had people come town in from places as far as New York to Texas.
Favorite Details: We really wanted our love for Birmingham to shine through on our wedding day. Our out-of-town guests were greeted with welcome boxes full of Birmingham original treats like Bob’s Best Cookies, Golden Flake Chips and a hand-drawn map of Birmingham. When we exited our reception, it was so neat to see Railroad Park all lit up at night. Also, for as long as I can remember, I have wanted to wear my mom’s veil—it’s truly stunning. We got it taken off of an ‘80s-style crown and put onto a more modern-style clip. It was so special being able to wear that heirloom piece, and it went so perfectly with my gown that it seemed it was just meant to be.Vendors
