HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?

Two of my college friends happened to live in Jake’s neighborhood. One of my friends told me, “Emily, you have to come and visit me, so you can meet this guy named Jake. Y’all are perfect for each other!” After a few weeks, I made my way to Birmingham for a visit. We ordered pizza and hung out on the back porch, which eventually turned into a night of dancing and singing karaoke.

THE PROPOSAL

Jake told me he was taking me for a detour to see a house with a great view of the city. We pulled into the driveway, got out of the car and I immediately saw candles, flowers and champagne. He walked me to the beautifully decorated porch and said so many sweet things (that I cannot remember), prayed over me and asked me to marry him. After I said yes, we drove to his parent’s house, where all of our closest friends and family were there to celebrate with us. Second only to our wedding day, it was the best day of my life!

WEDDING DRESS DETAILS

I fell in love with all of the details of my dress. The blush undertone, lace detailing and the sweetheart neckline paired with low cut back made the dress absolutely stunning.

WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE

My number one piece of advice is to hire a wedding planner that you love and trust–one that you are compatible with and who understands your vision. This makes wedding planning so much fun, and in my opinion, is something you must fit into the budget.
