This family-friendly festival will feature numerous local businesses on display, as well as food vendors, inflatables, games, live music and more. 2. Art in the Lot

Trinity United Methodist Church
1400 Oxmoor Rd
Art in the Lot is back again this year, featuring local vendors’ arts and crafts! This free event is open to all, and all are encouraged to sell, shop and discover the talents of artists right here in Homewood. Trinity United Methodist Church will also be accepting donations of toiletries and cleaning supplies to give to families who are a part of the Outreach Hub. The event is brought to patrons by the Trinity Studio and will be held in the church’s large parking lot. Visit trinitybirmingham.com for more information.
3. Celebrating Charles Ghigna’s New Poetry Book
Wednesday, May 17 | 4-5 p.m.
Homewood Public Library
Author Charles “Father Goose” Ghigna will read from and share about his new book, The Father Goose Treasury of Poetry: 101 Favorite Poems for Children, at this event, featuring arts and crafts, snacks and more. All ages are welcome.
4. Golden Girls Team Trivia

Thank you for being a friend! Join the friends of the Homewood Public Library and other Golden Girls fans for a night of fun-filled trivia! Prizes will be awarded to teams for first place, best costume and best team name. Register here.
5. It’s a Soul Thing–Taylor Hicks in Concert
Friday, May 19 | 7-8:30 p.m.
Samford University’s Wright Center
Fans of Taylor Hicks unite! The American Idol season 5 winner will perform a concert benefiting children, who have learning disabilities, that are also in adoption processes or in foster care. These children specifically are in need of intervention at Alabama Game Changers, which is a Hoover-based, medical-literacy clinic. To learn more or purchase tickets, visit here.
