The Dance Foundation

A joint effort by Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center and The Dance Foundation, this five-week ballet class is for anyone aged 14 and older who has been affected by breast cancer, whether they be survivors, patients and/or loved ones of those affected by the disease. Participants will meet each week and will not only learn real ballet instruction from a professional, but they will also learn how this form of dance can reveal and improve how they feel, navigating breast cancer. Ballet shoes are welcome but not necessary to participate. This class is free and open to the appropriate public, but those interested must reserve their spots. To learn more, visit here.

Big Ideas Book Club

Dinnertainment

The Country Club of Birmingham

The Exceptional Foundation is hosting its 11th anniversary celebration of “Dinnertainment” this month! The dinner and a show will feature members of the Exceptional Foundation showcasing their talents in art, music, theater and more! Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Tables will fill up quickly, so those interested should purchase their tickets soon here. Miss Sims’ Garden’s Pumpkin and Mum Sale

Miss Sims’ Garden’s annual pumpkin and mum sale will kick-off this month, featuring a pumpkin patch, children’s crafts, tricks and treats, a daily scavenger hunt, a scarecrow trail and more! Back for the fifth year, the anticipated scarecrow contest will feature children’s homemade scarecrows set up throughout the garden. Pumpkin patch visitors will vote on their favorite scarecrows throughout the season, and the winners will be announced on Halloween! Overflow parking is located at the Homewood Public Parking Lot.
